I have taught drama, dance and performing arts to children, young people and adults since 2001. I have a strong belief in the ability of performing arts to build confidence, create social awareness, increase our powers of communication and contribute to happy, healthy lifestyles. My teaching style puts an emphasis on the disciplines required to master the techniques of drama and performance, whilst maintaining that the process should be fun, challenging, dynamic and inquisitive.


I teach both group and private lessons, and run one-off workshops, regular classes and short courses.

Some of the organisations that I currently work with or for are listed below, as are some of the organisations that I have worked with during the past ten years.

The Beacon Arts – I run both junior and senior youth theatre groups, www.beaconarts.co.uk


Stagecoach Theatre Arts: Haywards Heath, Brighton, Worthing and Tunbridge Wells. I have taught main school and Early Stages groups, and also tutored students privately for their LAMDA Acting and Verse and Prose exams.

Brighton and Hove Youth Circus – I was rehearsal and show director for their 2008 production in the Udderbelly at the Brighton Festival.

Earwig Theatre Summer Schools – I have taught dance and drama on these week-long intensive summer school performing arts courses.

West Sussex Youth Theatre Development Project – I set up and directed a youth theatre in Lancing as part of a county-wide project funded by Arts Council England.

Brighton and Hove City Council – freelance dance tutor on ‘Connecting’ project


The Princes Trust – I delivered confidence and presentation skills workshops to young adults.

I have taught GCSE-level performing arts to young people at a secondary school in East Sussex.

South East Dance National Dance Agency – I worked as a freelance dance tutor for the agency for over seven years.

About Helen

I am an actress and physical performer, with skills that include dance, circus and puppetry. I am an experienced street theatre performer, voiceover artist, teacher and director and have worked in the UK and internationally.

I take pride in all that I do, and approach my work with passion, energy and enthusiasm.
